Verona Fights Hunger week 2026

Verona Fights Hunger Week is back! Join the Junior Women’s Club of Verona for our 13th annual town-wide effort to fight food insecurity and support our neighbors in need.
Since 2013, Verona Fights Hunger Week has brought residents, schools, businesses, restaurants, and volunteers together for one very big week of giving. Together, our community has collected more than 30,000 bags of non-perishable food and more than $50,000 in monetary donations and gift cards for local families.
All donations benefit The Food Pantry at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Verona and The Human Needs Food Pantry in Montclair.
This year, Verona Fights Hunger Week runs Saturday, October 10 through Saturday, October 17, and there are plenty of ways to help.
1. Shop & Drop with us
Help us fill our food pantries one grocery bag at a time! During our Shop & Drop weekends, Junior volunteers will be stationed outside local grocery stores collecting much-needed non-perishable food from shoppers.

Look for our tables outside, grab a list of the items our food pantries need most, and add a few to your cart while you shop. Every donation makes a difference!
2. Drop off a donation
Already have a bag ready to go? During Verona Fights Hunger Week, we'll have collection bins throughout town where you can drop off non-perishable food donations.

Verona Community Center: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Verona Town Hall: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Verona Public Library: During regular library hours

No time to shop? You can still make a big impact.
Monetary donations allow Verona Fights Hunger to support our partner food pantries and help meet needs that food donations alone can't cover. 6. DINE & DONATE
Eat local and fight hunger at the same time!
During Verona Fights Hunger Week, participating local restaurants will host Dine & Donate events, donating a portion of proceeds back to Verona Fights Hunger.

After a full week of collecting, shopping, donating, and dining, we'll bring it all together on Saturday, October 17 for the culmination of Verona Fights Hunger Week.
Join us at 9 a.m. at Verona Town Hall as we celebrate what our community has accomplished and prepare our collected donations for delivery to our partner food pantries.
